Democrat Bill Renick dropped out of the Mississippi governor’s race on Monday, saying “I can no longer afford to wage this battle.” His decision leaves four Democrats on the Aug. 7 party primary ballot. Republican Gov. Haley Barbour faces one opponent in his primary.
