JACKSON – Democrat Bill Renick of Ashland dropped out of the Mississippi governor’s race today, saying “I can no longer afford to wage this battle.” His decision leaves four Democrats on the Aug. 7 party primary ballot. Republican Gov. Haley Barbour faces one opponent in his primary.
